For the past several decades, each year on Gaudete Sunday, the Third Sunday of Advent, children (& adults) bring their Baby Jesus figures from the crib at their homes to St. Peter’s Square where the Pope will bless both the people & the figurines during the Angelus. This year we will celebrate “Bambinelli Sunday” at Saint John Bosco at all the Masses on Saturday, 12/10 and Sunday 12/11. All are invited to bring the Baby Jesus figure from their homes to Mass to be blessed. A table will be set up near the Baptismal Font for the statues. Father will bless the statues after the homily. Maybe you can start a new tradition: following the blessing, take your “Bambinelli” home & place it in a gift box, wrap it & save it for Christmas. Let this be the first gift your family opens on Christmas, when together you place your Baby Jesus figure in the crib, and have a home blessing of the Nativity for your whole family.
